As much as we love the Yuletide season, it also brings a lot of stress when we travel, shop, or try to be within our budget. During the holidays, a lot of people are suffering from stress. This negative stress brings a big plate of worries which in the long run may lead to heart disease, anxiety, obesity, depression, or hypertension among others.
Before popping a pill, there are a lot of natural methods you can try to relieve that stress:

Massage

This might be the first thing to come to mind and it has been pretty effective since it has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese, Romans, and other ancient civilizations. It is said to be effective to improve energy channels, decrease pain, relax tense muscles, and improve circulation. Overall, massage does wonders to a stressed mind and body.

You only need around half an hour to step back and be aware of yourself. You can do this even with a hectic day ahead. You do not need to spend for anything since all you need is a quiet place and your mind. Spend some time with yourself and just let your thoughts flow. Focus on your breathing and think of a great day ahead of you. This short time of calmness and peace helps you release some stress.

Run, do yoga, or maybe join a group doing tai chi and the routine works like meditation. Aside from burning some calories, these activities also gives you some time with your thoughts. Exercising also triggers the release of endorphins which is a hormone that helps us get that good mood.

chest 6It is a good time for chest congestion. That is, a lot of people are suffering from it.

If you are not interested in over the counter medications, there are plenty of natural remedies for this problem.

For starters, herbal tea can be extremely helpful, especially if you inhale the steam. By adding apple cider vinegar to hot water and/or herbal tea, you can also get a lot of help.

Eucalyptus oil is another helpful cure. Specifically, again, add it to hot water so you can inhale the steam. Lavender, oregano, and thyme as herbs or essential oils can also be used in this remedy.

tea-bag-soothe-allergies

Now that we have talked about tea specifically as a known treatment for black eyes, what type of tea is going to do the most healing?  That is what I have been asking myself and it is sage.  Sage tea compresses are actually fantastic for you to put onto any black eyes as this particular herb has been known to treat not just black eyes but bruises in general.

Just brew yourself a pot of sage tea, make sure that you stick a cloth in there – let it cool down and lay it over your eyes for an hour.  In an hour’s time, you will be able to see a remarkable difference in your bruises and black eye – I know that I did!

If you want a cure, sage is definitely a cure for black eyes if you repeat this process everyday until it is gone!

tea-bags

All right guys, so I am going to share something personal with you … I fell down the stairs this past weekend.  Sunday, I took a tumble down on top of a bunch of laundry and I definitely bruised not just my hand, thigh, calf and head but I bruised my eye.  When I woke up this morning, I have a black eye.

So – that lead me to these next few posts.  What does cure a black eye naturally or at least what helps speed up the process?  That is what the next couple blogs are for and that is what we are going to talk about.  One of the first things that helps are tea compresses – honestly, place a teabag on your black eye and in no time at all, it should go down.

In the next blog, we will talk about what specific teas will help you with your black eye (and thank god for that!) … stay tuned!

duct-tape-rolls

Now that we have talked about one of the ways that you can get rid of pesky skin tags, let’s go ahead and dive right into another one.  To be perfectly honest, skin tags are nothing that you really need to worry about – they are however something that you should get rid of.

One great way that I found is duct tape.  Duct tape is something that I have found that not only works great but it is pretty painless.  All you do is apply the duct tape over the skin tag … let it sit and you will see just how easy it comes off!

Skin tags are unsightly and not something that you really want to deal with – however you do not have to have any chemicals to get them off.

Using the Alexander Technique to Help Back Pain

October 22nd, 2009

back-painFirst and foremost — what the heck is the Alexander Technique? Well, in short, is it designed to help promote the right posture, which can correct a whole lot of back pain.

You see, if you do not sit correctly or walk properly, in terms of posture, then the body can become unbalanced, which can lead to all sorts of pain, not to mention fatigue.

The Alexander Technique is a technique which makes us aware of how we sit, stand, and walk. They are designed to relax, to reduce stress, to straighten the spine, to help the muscles, and even to improve circulation and articulation.

As we grow older, most of us will naturally fall into the habit of slouching, or carrying too much of our weight on a single side of our body. The techniques and exercises which make up the Alexander Technique may be able to correct that, and to thus either improve or outright prevent the back pain which occurs over time.

Can You be Healthy by Acting Healthy?

October 18th, 2009

healthyIs it possible that you can simply say you are healthy, and you will be healthy?

Well, a lot of people seem to think so. It seems to be a belief that if you are self confident and self motivated, you can be healthier.

What are the merits to such a claim? For one thing, if you can be confident in yourself, it can significantly reduce your stress levels. If you are less stressed, you will naturally both be healthier and feel healthier.

Relaxation therapy, as well as others, can help you to gain confidence and relieve stress, but most of it is going to come down to you. You have to believe that therapies like these will worth, that you can have control over the stressors in your life, that you can choose not to be stressed out, and that you can be healthy if you are confident in yourself.
